Still hot, still humid, but some relief is in sight: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 6/16/22

I’m not sure what is hotter, the weather or my group of interns forecasting skills…. Whew! The Interns continue to cruise!

Weather-wise, the heat will continue for sure. As we head through this weekend and into next week, the ridge of high pressure that has dominated the weather pattern for the last ferw days, will continue to dominate.

Since we will be on the southern periphery of the ridge, it does mean that there will be some chances for storms here and there. So a few folks may be able to pick up some cooling showers to help with the heat.

But it will still be hot.

Thankfully, though, the heat won’t be there forever. It looks like late next week it will exit to the west and open the door for some slightly (and I do mean slightly) cooler temperatures to ease into the area.

The good news is cooler temperatures (however slight) are always welcomed in the Summer along the Gulf Coast. The bad news is that as the ridge moves west, it does allow for anything that is in the Tropics to sneak into the Gulf a bit easier.

So you take the good with the bad, I suppose.
