Storms return north on Wednesday, for everyone Thursday PM / Friday AM: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 2/28/23

Today should be nice across the area. Then, we’ve got storms possible, on back-to-back days, Wednesday and Thursday for those of you living closer to I-20. While folks farther south will likely only have storms to worry about on Thursday.

Tomorrow, the Storm Prediction Center has hoisted a Slight Risk for places farther NW in Mississippi and and into Arkansas.

This is followed by a very wide Enhanced Risk for severe weather on Thursday and into Friday morning.

It looks like storms will start across parts of Texas and push all the way across east Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi before falling apart into Alabama.

That means the timeline for storms across the Southern MS/AL/LA region will be shunted a bit later in the night and into early Friday morning. In fact, depending on how things shake out, storms may be arriving for some folks just about the time their morning alarm goes off.

Notice that despite the SPC Risk showing “Thursday” as the problem, the timeline for when storms arrive is barely part of Thursday and mostly into Friday morning. Because we are still a few days out specific timelines for each city/county and what the specific threats from storms will be are still a bit uncertain. But if you are making plans for late Thursday night or Friday morning, please keep tabs on the forecast in the coming days.
