Stormy Veterans Day, nice weekend: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 11/10/21

The clouds will continue to increase today ahead of a cold front that is set to move through the area tomorrow. There is a slight chance for a severe storm on Thursday, but it looks marginally severe – at worst.

Forecast soundings are not impressive, but it is th Gulf Coast after all. And severe weather can never truly be ruled out.

It looks like there will be modest instability and modest shear. But perhaps just enough if the right kind of storm can develop at the right time in the right place.

Outside of this chance for rain, there isn’t much else on the horizon. Rainfall estimates from the ECMWF model show less than 1″ of rain through the next 10 days across the region.

In fact, after this front rolls through, a few more fronts will pass through, but it will be too dry to spark showers and storms. So most of the changes will simply be a wind shift and a cool down.
