Tropical Depression Five is now Tropical Storm Dorian. The storm continues to organize and strengthen east of the great & Lesser Antilles.
Latest model data continues to show strengthening, but the model guidance is starting to catch up to what the National Hurricane Center has been forecasting.
Model data guidance
The afternoon model guidance for intensity shows, now, a better chance that Dorian is a strong Tropical Storm by Thursday of next week.
The storms’ track is still locked into where it was earlier this morning.
The Ensemble guidance from the GFS computer weather model has shifted the track a bit to the north, closer to the ECMWF computer weahter model guidance.
What should you do for now?
Check your Hurricane Preparedness Kit. That’s about it. Make sure you have enough supplies to last a few days without power and water.
Not because this system is anticipated to wipe out power and water to an area, but rather, you should always have enough supplies to last a few days without power and water during Hurricane season.
