This is what it sounds like when clouds cry – A Prince-inspired forecast for July 5th-12th

Short Term

Hey there,Intern Emily here! All three interns are back together and feeling really strong about the forecast for the upcoming week. Noah, Kendall, and I are all dedicating this forecast to the late Prince (You’ll understand why when you read the forecast). I’ve got short term (tonight/tomorrow), Kendall has Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and Noah will finish it out with Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Tonight:

I think the scattered showers will continue to make their way to the west as the flow out of a boundary and sweep across from north of Jackson to Biloxi in a line. As we enter this evening we’ll be lucky to avoid severe weather so just be cautious and be ready to ditch the fireworks in the event of some minor showers that may still pass through. In the meantime, temperatures should be fairly mild, just keep drinking water while you’re out playing with the kids and blowing various things up!

Time 4 p.m. 7 p.m.
WX Scattered Clouds Scattered Clouds
Temperature 84° 82°

Tomorrow:

Temperature 74° 82° 85° 86° 83°

We’ll be seeing good chance of thunderstorms in the area with a 40% chance across the Pine Belt which leads to overcast in the morning but later in the evening, we’ll see clearer skies. High temperature looks to be 90° with a low of 72° and we’ll get little to no wind but the mild heat means that it won’t be as miserable as in the past.

There’s a look at your short term covering tonight and tomorrow! Have a happy 4th of July everyone! Be careful but have a blast!

Weekend Forecast

Good afternoon, everyone! Kendall here with the weekend forecast. Mississippi proves yet again it doesn’t have to be cool to rule our world.

Sunday, watch for a big storm rolling through developing in the afternoon and early evening. The day starts of with a low of 73° in the morning, but will warm up to 87° with winds out of the southeast at 4 mph. The chance for rain is 70%.

You’re probably asking the forecast, “why you wanna treat me so bad?” Before you get bummed out over the purple rain, take a look at Noah’s forecast for the beginning of next week. Thank you so much for reading!

Long Term

Hey y’all! It’s your weather intern Noah here to handle the last bit of your week.

So all of that cloudiness and rain looks like it’ll be going away from here by Tuesday, but you know what that means unfortunately. The heat’s coming back to replace it but with a little added humidity to keep it down slightly. Can’t catch a break, now can we? That’s just summer in southern Mississippi for you!

Monday sees the tail end of our week-long rain chances. We have our highest chance at 60% since that back end of the front is rearing it’s head one last time. Most of our storms are going to be in the afternoon when the clouds roll in, but earlier in the day we’ll see mostly cloudy to overcast skies before the rain happens. High of 89 and a low of 71.

Tuesday sees some low level clouds popping up which might have a chance of turning into our ever-famous afternoon showers after the daytime heating. We’ll see a high of 92 and a low of 72.

Wednesday clears out most of the clouds and keeps things hotter with fair skies and a 20% chance of a pop-up storm throughout the day. High of 93 and a low of 73.

How could you just leave me standing, alone in the rain that’s so cold?

Anyways, hope y’all have a good week and stay dry! We’re going to be heating up soon, so it’ll be muggy by next week!
