Tropical Storm Sara remnants could help boost chance for storms next week: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 11/15/24

It looks like we’re in for a nice stretch of seasonal weather this weekend, with high pressure keeping things dry and temperatures rebounding into the 70s. As ridging builds in from the west, the weekend will be comfortable and mild, perfect for getting outside.

Early next week, things start to shift. As high pressure moves east, southerly flow will bring more moisture into the area, setting the stage for a better shot for rain and storms. While the risk of severe weather is low, there’s a small chance that remnants of Tropical Storm Sara could enhance some of the low-level ingredients needed to increase the risk for a brief tornado or wind gust up over 60mph.

That said, there is also a reasonable chance that it blobs up offshore and cuts off some of the low-level flow into our area, too. So there is still a bit to figure out.

Either way, we are bound to get a bit more rain. And aside from the potential for storms, sustained winds near 20 mph will be possible on Tuesday and into Wednesday. .

By midweek, a cold front will push through, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures. Highs will settle into the 50s and 60s, and lows will dip to around 40F to 45F.. It’ll feel quite blustery, thanks to a lingering tight pressure gradient on the east side of a Canadian high-pressure system. Looking ahead to next weekend, confidence is growing that we’ll see the first freeze of the season for places near and north of I-20.
