Voting Day forecast looks good, some rain possible this weekend: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 11/8/22

Get out and vote! Mother Nature won’t get in the way.

As we move through the rest of the week, the weather gets a bit more interesting, but probably not terribly impactful. Most of the upcoming weather has to do with Subtropical Storm Nicole and the incoming cold front.

Nicole won’t directly impact things, but it will be close enough, I think, to kick up the breeze slightly. Nothing damaging, but you may hear some extra wind chimes and the trees may be swaying a bit more.

By Friday morning, Subtropical Storm Nicole will have moved through Florida and up into the Southeast – most likely somewhere across northern Florida, Georgia or South Carolina.

This is ahead of the next front. And it will actually help to keep any meaningful storms from developing ahead of said front.

The black arrows on the map above show the direction of the wind. Notice that ahead of the front instead of a south wind, we already have a northwest wind! And it is tough to get storms when we don’t have a south wind off the Gulf!

What we may see is some lingering rain back in behind the front after it passes on Saturday. This would be drizzle and light rain, nothing heavy or severe.

By Sunday, we get back into mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures. Overnight lows may even dip into the 30s.
